Black Wire

Just trying to refurbish one of the models, and have seen that between the switch and the battery , on the connector, there is some corrosion. I take it that this is the dreaded 'black wire'. I have ditched the switch and the battery, but am wondering whether or not the servo's and the receiver may have been damaged? I may use the servos for ancillary use, i.e. not primary surfaces. Or has anyone got a servo tester I may borrow to go through my collection?

Cheers
